I had an opportunity to visit Samadhi of Sir M Visvesvaraya at Muddenahalli on my way back from a small trek on Skandagiri Hill with Kiran Joshi , Shobha Joshi and Uma Valluri today afternoon.
Myself, Shobha and Uma have been fortunate to get associated with the engineering genius that Sir MV was. We graduated from the engineering college named after him. Namely, the Visvesvaraya Regional College of Engineering, Nagpur, now known as VNIT, Nagpur. And obviously have a special respect and sense of gratefulness to him.
On my part, I got additionally the opportunity to spend 16 years of my exciting engineering career in Karnataka, the land of Sir MV who spent a significant part of his life here and loved it very much.
Karnataka Government has constructed a beautiful Samadhi in Muddenahalli where he was born and breathed his last. We also visited the house where he grew up and spent the last years of his life. It is converted into a small museum now displaying the story of his life and his achievements.
It gave all three of us the immense sense of satisfaction to be at his Samadhi and take the blessing of his sacred soul.
